How the billing works

Most advice platforms sell you a block of time and keep whatever you don't use. We don't do that, because it punishes you for being efficient.

Billing on Mentraze is calculated per second. If your conversation takes seven minutes and twenty-three seconds, that is exactly what you are charged for. There is no rounding up to the next block, no minimum session fee, and no penalty for finishing early.

The timer starts only when both you and the expert are connected. If someone is a minute late joining, that minute is not yours to pay for. If you end the call after four minutes because you got your answer, you pay for four minutes.

This matters more than it sounds. A good expert often answers the real question in the first five minutes. On a platform that sells hour-long blocks, that efficiency costs you the same as an hour of waffle. Here it costs you five minutes.

You top up once and draw down from the balance as you use it.

Why there is no subscription

Subscriptions work well for products you use every week. Advice is not that. You need a good conversation at the moment you are deciding something, and then you may not need one again for three months.

Charging you monthly for that would mean most people paying for silence. It would also give us a reason to keep you subscribed rather than to make each conversation genuinely useful. Per-minute pricing keeps the incentive honest: we only earn when you are actually talking to someone worth talking to.

It also means you can try the platform for the price of a coffee rather than committing to a plan before you know whether it works for you.
